This year's worlc championship will be held in Mexico City.

WEKAF Vice President Gerald O. Canete said that the upcoming event is a chance for them to select world class caliber Cebuano fighters to represent the Philippines.

“This tournament is designed for us to discover new talents and fighters. As soon as we will see them, we will help them, fighters will be pooled for a selection process before the World Championship,” Gerald said in a press conference at YO.U in Parkmall.

CaƱete also added that they are expecting teams from the other regions to participate and give the Cebuanos a run for their money. The Atan Guardo, Gervince, Xkrim and Parkmall-backed tournament will start at 1pm after a short opening ceremony. Sayaw or Forms will open the competition while fighters will have their hands full in the Sparring competition.
